Plant Medicine Mentorship with Kat Courtney

Fall/Earth, Group 3

FALL GROUP BEGINS SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 18th, 2026
at 8 am PT / 11 am ET / 5 pm CET

Course Overview From Mentor Kat Courtney

Dear fellow plant-lover: I found my way to Ayahuasca 22 years ago through an incredible twist of fate, and the gifts have been endless. I studied for 10 years in the Shipibo-Conibo and Quechua-Lamista Aya lineages, as well as in the Chavin tradition of Huachuma. I founded Plant Medicine People 7 years ago, and I co-founded a thriving Ibogaine clinic in 2025 (Bassé). I’ve sat in countless ceremonies, as a participant, assistant, and lead guide. I trained to hold Master Plant Dietas, and have held several thousand to date. I’m initiated as a Hapeh carrier and server. I even went to jail for Ayahuasca; I understand the shamanic intricacies, the legal challenges, the immense responsibilities, and the indescribable blessing of doing this work. I’m all in, and although no on has seen it all, I’ve seen enough to be a trusted mentor for those with deep devotion to the path.

I’m honored to have folks ask on the regular if they can train with me, and I know there are thousands of you out there that are called to this sacred work. While I don’t take traditional apprenticeships, I birthed this virtual mentorship course as a way to support you on your path; with shamanic teachings and modalities, advice on navigating the numerous obstacles, deepening your connection to the plants, and so much more.

This mentorship is a year‑round, season‑based experience for people committed to working ethically, safely and respectfully with sacred Pant Medicines — whether you are a devoted participant, an emerging or expanding facilitator, or someone who wants rigorous expertise and understanding in ceremony, integration, and ethical container‑holding. You can commit to a single season, half year, three seasons, or go all in for the year. This is an intimate, practice‑focused container with a maximum of 8 mentees per seasonal group. Registrants will have weekly live mentorship discussions (90 minutes each), access to me via email/text during the week, a private Discord group, exclusive discounts for participants, and so much more.

Course Details

What makes this mentorship special:

  • Learn from direct experience: Kat has spent 22 years studying and guiding plant medicine ceremonies, having extensively trained with Shipibo‑Conibo, Quechua‑Lamista and Chavín traditions, and most recently in the Ibogaine space. Learn from her hundreds of ceremonies, 5,000+ coaching, dieta, and ceremony clients, dozens of retreats, and countless personal experiences.

  • More than just weekly discussions: Kat will teach practical skills for preparation, ceremony etiquette, shamanic traditions + modalities, plus medical & psychological safety, harm‑reduction, behind-the-altar secrets, integration techniques and real-world stories, and how to design and steward ceremonial containers of various kinds. Half of the discussion will be about the weekly theme, the other half is around whatever participants wish to discuss and explore.

  • Kat will give weekly rituals, homework, advice on your personal path, and experiential ideas to take offline, and incorporate into your practice.

  • This is a safe, accountable space to practice, ask hard questions, and receive real feedback as you develop competence and confidence; both from Kat, and the heart-led, devoted, and wonderful community.

Who this is for:

  • People who love Plant Medicines but can’t abandon their lives to apprentice, but deeply desire to learn more about these sacred traditions.

  • Healers/seekers training to hold space for others (facilitators, coaches, clinicians) who are seeking more nuanced shamanic tools from a trusted and experience practitioner.

  • Anyone who wants trustworthy guidance from a senior guide with indigenous training and substantial shamanic and clinical experience.

  • Individuals who love community and want to connect, share experiences, be vulnerable, and get inspired by each other.

Structure & format:

  • Group size: max 8 participants

  • Each session will have a topic, often to match the seasonal/elemental theme. See full schedule below. We’ll spend 30-45 minutes on the theme, and the rest of the time in open discussion with the live participants.

  • Enrollment closes one week before the cohort begins or when full.

  • Weekly 90‑minute Zoom calls for three months (recurring seasons throughout the year).

    • Each session: ~30 minutes teaching/personal storytelling (themes rotate weekly) + 60 minutes group sharing, Q&A, and skills practice.

    • Summer: Group 3 Sessions are on Fridays at 8 am PT / 11 am ET / 5 pm CET

    • Each seasonal group will be at a new date/time to accommodate different time zones

    • All sessions recorded so it is not required to attend live (live attendance highly encouraged, not required)

  • Ongoing connection: private Discord community for questions, resource sharing, and peer support between sessions.

  • Additional access to Kat: voice memo, email, and text support (1–3x/day, within reasonable boundaries) while you’re active in the program.

Plant Medicine Mentor Kat Courtney

Kat Courtney, author of Plant Medicine Mystery School Vol 1: The Superhero Healing Powers of Psychotropic Plants, began her entheogenic studies in the Peruvian Amazon in 2004, under the protection of the late, great Don Howard Lawler; one of the most powerful and esteemed Huachumeros who has ever walked the Earth. Kat attended dozens and dozens of Ayahuasca and Huachuma ceremonies with Howard and Don Rober Acho at SpiritQuest, and then went on to apprentice for 10 years with an incredible Ayahuasquero maestro. She is a graduate of the Gaia Institute’s Master Herbalism Apprenticeship in 2009, and is a master of plant communication. Kat has poured medicine for thousands of sincere seekers, and coached thousands more in the aftermath of powerful plant ceremonial work. She’s a humble servant of all plant medicines, having completed over 4 years of Master Plant Diets to date. She is thrilled and honored to share some of the priceless knowledge imparted to her during these wildly eclectic experiences.

Kat is ready to talk plants, explore the mystery of consciousness, and help each participant find their unique and personalized next steps in the magical, love-filled realm of shamanism.
